Emergencies: Marcelo will "formulate judgment" at the end of the summer

A year after warning Luís Montenegro that the expectations the Prime Minister had created regarding the emergency plan for Health were “very high” and that he would closely monitor the implementation of the measures , Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa told Público that he “is waiting for the end of the summer to, eventually, formulate an opinion on the matter”.
The President of the Republic thus points to September as the deadline to resolve the emergency room crisis. Público also recalls the President's statements from a year ago, alongside Minister Ana Paula Martins, in which he expressed his desire for the response to the crisis to be resolved "as quickly as possible."
Summer began in Portuguese emergency services without structural changes or concentration of teams , with the NHS preparing for a summer marked by closed emergency services and others severely limited.
Hospital administrators and doctors interviewed by Observador in mid-July said they feared the situation would worsen compared to last year, with the situation in the Gynecology/Obstetrics emergency departments being the one that inspires the most concern, given the lack of professionals to fill the shifts.
